Talk about a CRAZY week!
This is the final post in our series about Transitioning to Grey Hair. This week April, covers talk about how grey hair can often have a different texture and maintaining your new grey style.
Transition to grey hair - Rule Five
Grey hair can sometimes have a different texture to the rest of your hair. This means the products, and the way you may have done your hair in the past, may not work as well. Come talk to us about how to care for your new found friends, and what product will make styling your hair a lot easier. Our Wellington hairdressing team has many helpful products and tricks to make maintaining your hair and achieving the look you’re after a breeze.
Transition to grey hair - Rule Six
Once you have achieved the style you are happy with a maintenance program becomes more important. Maintaining the condition of your hair is easy, providing you have protected your hair previously. Demi’s are a great way to smooth the cuticle of the hair and make styling easier. You can apply a demi with a soft reflect or pigment. Alternatively applying a clear demi helps to smooth the cuticle without adding any colour to the hair.
There are also hair smoothing treatments available which help to combat the frizz which is often a problem for many of my clients. We have a smoothing treatment called Cezanne that is perfect for plumping up dull hair and smoothing out coarse 'untameable' hair.
Finally, a good cut is the last thing to tick off the list. I believe it's better to think of 'colour' and 'cut' as a single process. It's also important to have a clear idea of how the cut and colour will go together, and how you plan to manage it at home.
